Arajärvi in Akaa is a stunning, clear-water lake fed by natural springs, conveniently located in the Pirkanmaa region. Nolla Akaa cabins are nestled on the shores of Vähä Arajärvi, just a 30-minute drive from Tampere, an hour and a half from Helsinki, and a little over an hour from Turku. The area boasts diverse natural beauty and offers a unique sense of tranquility. Surrounded by forest and set along the serene lakeside, you can experience a peaceful and unforgettable overnight stay.
The Arajärvi region is home to two nature reserves: Kolunpää Nature Reserve and Vähä-Arajärvi Grove. Both are within a short hiking distance from the Nolla Akaa cabins, inviting visitors to explore and enjoy the surrounding nature. Adjacent to the cabins, you’ll find a calm, city-maintained beach and ice saunas, perfect for year-round relaxation.

About Nolla cabins
The Nolla Akaa cabins are conveniently located at Arajärventie 603, 37830 Akaa, accessible by car, bicycle, on foot, or via public transportation. The nearest train station is in Viiala (9 km), but you can also choose to arrive at Toijala station for a longer outdoor trek to the cabins (16.5 km). Onnibus travelers can disembark at a stop approximately 9 km away from the destination.
Each cabin is thoughtfully positioned to ensure privacy and offers stunning lakeside views. Cabin number 3 welcomes pets, making it an ideal choice for travelers with furry companions. The location provides a tranquil and serene environment for an unforgettable stay immersed in nature.
The cabin price includes accommodation for two people. While designed for two guests, the Nolla cabin can comfortably accommodate a family, such as two adults and two children. The beds can be combined into a larger bed for sleeping side by side, and additional mattresses are stored in the bed drawers. The cabins feature high-quality pillows and duvets, but guests should remember to bring their own bed linens or sleeping bags. Linens can also be rented as an optional service when making a reservation. For parties of 3–4 people, please inform us in advance so we can ensure that the cabin is equipped with sufficient amenities for everyone.
Each cabin comes equipped with cooking utensils and eco-friendly disposable dishes. Additionally, the cabins include an electric outlet, stove, and heater. Please note that there is no refrigerator available in the cabins. Check-in is available from 3:00 PM, and check-out on your departure day is by 12:00 PM.

The Arajärvi area offers unforgettable nature experiences. Just a short walk from the Nolla cabins, you will find Kolunpää Nature Reserve and Vähä-Arajärvi Grove, both known for their calming atmosphere and diverse natural beauty. The area's trails are perfect for peaceful strolls or more active hikes. You can explore lush deciduous forests, listen to the songs of birds in the forest's embrace, and enjoy the changing landscapes throughout the seasons. The nature reserves also provide a wonderful opportunity to stop and take a deep breath. In particular, the Kolunpää area is home to ancient forests and rare plant species, while Vähä-Arajärvi Grove delights with its rich vegetation and greenery. After a day of exploration, the proximity of the cabins ensures a comfortable return to relax and unwind in nature.
Right next to the cabins, you’ll find a city-owned beach, open year-round. During winter, a lit ice hole serves brave swimmers, and it is available for use throughout the season at no additional cost. If you’re looking to warm up after an invigorating dip, the ice sauna by the beach offers the perfect way to relax.
While the Arajärvi area offers peace and tranquility, it is just a 15-minute drive from the services of Akaa's city center. This makes it easy to combine your nature-filled experience with a visit to local shops, restaurants, or events.
If you wish to enhance your stay with some culinary delights, you can choose from additional services such as a picnic basket or a cozy dinner in the woods. The Picnic Basket for two is a perfect option for a day trip – it contains carefully selected ingredients designed to be enjoyed without refrigeration.
For a more special dining experience, you can opt for a Dinner in the Woods for two. This unique meal is served in the heart of nature between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, and is prepared according to your taste at the scheduled time. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, you can enjoy your meal in the comfort of your cozy Nolla cabin instead. The dinner includes two menu options: Menu 1 features a light, forest-inspired starter, a hearty game dish for the main course, and a berry-infused cheesy dessert. Menu 2 offers a plant-based delight, highlighting seasonal ingredients, with the same forest-flavored starters and desserts. Sauna
There are public sauna sessions available at the destination, or if you prefer, you can book a private two-hour sauna session as an additional service.
Public sauna sessions are held on Tuesdays and Sundays from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. On Tuesdays, sessions are separated for women and men. On Sundays, there is a shared session in the larger lower sauna. Sauna tickets can be purchased at the Arajärvi lodge kiosk on Tuesdays and Sundays during sauna hours (2:00 PM–7:00 PM).
A single entry to a public sauna session costs 5 euros. Children can join for free when accompanied by an adult. A family ticket is 8 euros and includes two adults and all accompanying children. A personal season pass is also available for 60 euros and is valid until August 31. With the pass, you can join public sauna sessions as often as you like. A 10-visit pass is also available for 45 euros and is valid until August 31.
A private two-hour sauna session costs 50 euros and can be selected as an additional service when booking your cabin. The sauna time is reserved on site by writing your name in the booking calendar. Instructions and the sauna key can be found in your cabin.
Cleaning
Please make sure to leave the Nolla cabin in good condition for the next guest. Sweep the floor, shake out the blankets, and neatly make the beds. Remember to also clean the shelf and stove after use. If something is broken, lost, or soiled, please inform us so that we can take appropriate action. It is very important to us that the Nolla cabins remain clean and well-maintained for the comfort of all guests. Also, kindly leave your shoes outside to help keep the interior clean. Thank you!
