In cooperation with the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation
Beautiful forests, smooth rocks and clear waters. Unique natural sites and a clean environment are the main features of Nolla cabins. Indeed, Nolla cabins would not exist without all the wonderful places that you can find in nature. That’s why we also want to act responsibly and work towards preserving Finland’s clean nature for future generations. To this end, we have intensified our cooperation with the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation.
We donate € 5 for every night spent in a Nolla cabin to the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation.
Forests
Forests represent a sacred place for Finns. In the shade of trees and in the midst of the fresh smell of moss, you can fully rest and restore your energy. About 36 per cent of Finland’s endangered species live primarily in forests. The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation takes care of and fights for our forests to be able to remain vibrant for future generations. It is not enough for a species to be hovering on the limit of extinction. They have to be thriving. The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation wants to increase the protection of forests and have a say in how forests are used.
Waters
Water is one of the prerequisites for life. In Finland, we are used to clear lakes and rivers, but water bodies are not optimal in all places. The Association for Nature Conservation works in several different ways to ensure a cleaner Baltic Sea and inland waters, for example, by making sure that we all know how we can contribute to the protection of water bodies near us in order to improve the overall quality of water.
The climate
The effects of climate change on nature and human communities are worrying. Currently, the climate is changing rapidly and the pace will continue to accelerate unless we act quickly. The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation supports limiting global warming to less than 1.5 degrees. In order for this to be achieved, emissions must be sharply reduced while protecting and increasing the carbon sinks and pools of our natural ecosystems. Finland’s carbon sinks should bind more carbon than that which is generated through emissions by 2030. By acting as a model for sustainability, we can encourage other people, regions and countries to do the same.
